Individual Player Movements
As each Zona Cup qualifier is technically a "stand alone event", players may play participate with a different team at each event, with the following stipulations in place.
- Once a player has participated with a team at a Zona Cup qualifier event, that player is now locked onto that team's roster. The only way a player can leave that roster to play with a different team at another event, is for the team they last played with to release them.
- If a team does not wish to release a player, that is their right, and that player may not participate with any other team during that season.
- Player releases should be sent by the releasing teams official contact (coach or manager) and done through email sent to theihaaz@gmail.com.
- The release should state the players first and last name, the name, age group, and designation of the roster they are being released from, and a note stating that the team is authorizing that player to be be released.
- Once released, that player is a "free agent" and may participate with any other team in the series.
- After a player is released from a team, that player is no longer eligible to play with their previous team for Zona Cup Finals unless they released back to the first team. They must then re-qualify with that team at another event in order to be eligible to play with them at Zona Cup Finals, so whichever team a player was last rostered on come Zona Cup Finals, is the team they are eligible to play with at the Zona Cup Finals.
Roster Movements within the same club or organization
- In the event a program has multiple teams in the same age group, a players may be moved from one roster to the other at different qualifying events without having to formally release them.
- If a player has played with multiple teams within their program during the qualifying season, they will qualify for Zona Cup Finals with whichever team they last played with.
- Example: A player participates with Team Y in their program for the first two qualifier events, but is moved onto Team Z for the third event. That player is then needed to go back to Team Y for the 4th event and Zona Cup Finals. This would be allowed, however if Team Y did not play the 4th event they would still be locked onto Team Z's roster.
