12 & Under
The AHU Knights roller team was born from a group of kids that enjoyed spending weekends playing roller hockey at the park. Several of the kids had asked if they could start a team as a way to have fun, enjoy the sport of roller hockey and compete against other teams in the valley. The inaugural season was last year 2012 and the members of the U12 team were: Hunter Campbell, Connor & Ryan Bottrill, Jack Strauss, Matt McBride, Alex Bauman, Skylar Miller, Cade Roque and Daniel Obarski.
The first season was an overwhelming success as the team won the first two tournaments they entered in Peoria and Prescott. Playing roller hockey is a great way for the kids to stay in shape, a great way to increase creativity and a great way to spend time with friends competing as a team. Therefore the objective of the AHU program is to provide a form of healthy recreation for kids to compete at the level of competition best suited to the team’s capability and to foster and encourage the development and improvement of hockey through an increased interest in the game.
