12u, 14u and Midget
The AZ Royals, a relatively new Arizona roller hockey organization in just its second official season, will again be competing in the upcoming 2015 IHAAZ festival season. This exciting new program began as a handful of ice players from the Arizona Hockey Union looking for additional skating time and skills development, and has expanded to include players from several different ice hockey organizations as well as kids purely interested in roller hockey. Based primarily in the Phoenix area East Valley and practicing out of Barney’s Family Sports center in Queen Creek as well as the Peoria Sportsplex, the Royals look to provide opportunities for Valley-area youth to stretch their legs and develop their hockey skills while building an overall love of the sport.
Focused on growing opportunities for youth roller hockey throughout the state, the Royals are always looking to expand their offerings to encompass as many interested kids as possible. Last season, the Arizona Royals fielded three different teams for a number of festivals. For the 2015 season, the Royals have expanded to four teams over three divisions: one 12u squad, two 14u and one Midget. Looking to build for the future, the Royals hope to add one or two younger division teams before 2016!
